This article focused tracks of Plum Blossom Melody in Three Variations of Jiao’an tablatureas,with the four traditional Chinese aesthetic sentiments of "Dao","Qi","Yun" and "Miao" as a perspective for specific analysis.The article is divided into five parts.The introduction focuses on the background of the piece and the theoretical foundation of the four sentiments as analytical tool.Chapter One focuses on the Jiao’an tablature and extracts its relevant information for music analysis.Chapter Two analyzes the sound versions performed by Zhang Ziqian and Liu Shaochun and music sentiments involved to improve my comprehension of performance as well as accumulate experience in performing.Chapter Three connects the four sentiments with the Twenty-Four Circumstances and Sentiment,and analyzes the specific problems in the application of techniques and expression of emotions in my performance.Theconclusion summarizes important viewpoints of the entire paper,the feasibility of the four-aesthetic-sentiment research methods,and possible extensions of the methods.This article is an exploratory study of a classic qin piece and traditional Chinese aesthetic sentiments.Its research perspective of the four sentiments on traditional qin works has cognition value for similar studies.
