Composed in 1836,Cherubini’s "Requiem in D minor" is a Requiem workwith three-part male choir accompanied by an orchestra.As a student of conducting,the author of thisthesistries to explore the process of music work preparation,from understanding a composition to organizing rehearsals.The entire thesis is divided into three chapters.The first chapter introduces the historical procedure of Requiem music.The second chapter analyzes“Requiem in D Minor”,including the composer’s life,composing background,and musical structure analysis.The third chapter is the application of the conducting techniques of "Dies Irae," including the analysis of the issues in conducting and vocal techniques of key segments,and finally,a comparison of different versions is discussed.
