Exploration On The Application Of Typical Elements In Illustration Design Of Wu Zang Shan Jing

The Wu Zang Shan Jing is the oldest and most valuable part of the Mountain and Sea Classic^[1].In the Wu Zang Shan Jing,mountains are classified into five mountain systems:south,west,north,east and middle,and relevant geographical knowledge is appended in the classification.The full text is described in detail and methodically with the direction anddistance of mountains and rivers,which can be regarded as the earliest book on Chinesemountain geography^[2].At the same time,the Wu Zang Shan Jing contains many images of gods,ghosts and strange animals,mythological stories,etc.,which also provide valuable written materials for the field of art and design,and has high artistic value in the creation of illustration.From the current research,the illustration design of the Classic of Mountains and Seas is usually developed from the images of gods,ghosts and beasts,but relatively little from the geographical location.Therefore,this paper innovates the illustration design of the WuZang Shan Jing based on geographical orientation,extracts typical elements from the WuZang Shan Jing through modern design techniques,describes the geographical style of the Wu Zang Shan Jing more clearly and intuitively,and better inherits the intangible culturalheritage.In this paper,the typical elements in the southeast,northwest and the Wu Zang Shan Jing are investigated and studied,and the thesis is completed by means of monograph reading,literature retrieval and picture comparison.The research is carried out from the following aspects:First,find the relevant background information of the paper and research status at home and abroad,make a summary,clarify the research purpose,research significance,research methods and content of the paper,and sort out the research framework;Secondly,it sums up the typical elements in the"Wu Zang Shan Jing"and explores them by taking the characteristics of the five mountains,gods,beasts and other products in the mountains asexamples.Thirdly,it uses modern visual design techniques to extract,summarize and innovate the"shape"of the five mountain elements,and puts forward some feasible andapplicable illustration innovation techniques for the application of the"Wu Zang Shan Jing"in modern design.Fourth,Extend the application of the newly designed illustration,andpromote the traditional Chinese culture through cultural and creative products and blind box design and other forms of expression.So that people can more intuitively understand the Wu Zang Shan Jing.
