Since the 1980 s,with the loosening of state ideology, the discourse of literary writing has returned to the hands of intellectuals, who, with an overwhelming enthusiasm for creativity and a strong sense of "searching for their roots",have looked into the fabric of the countryside and enriched the Chinese literary landscape with their own writings on the native land.He entered the literary world as a poet, writing about the social landscape and humanities of Tibetan lands.Alai’s works span a wide range of time, covering the social changes and civilizational transformations of Tibetan society from ancient times to the present day, involving a wide variety of characters and a wide range of classes.Alai’s characters are written with an emphasis on expressing spiritual meanings and characteristics, striving to express the inertia and power of life from within the characters. There is no absolute sense in which there are primary and secondary characters, nor is the latter a companion or complement to the former, but rather an important part of the character group’s identity. There is a group of ’marginalised’ people in his painting who are outside the group, with distinctive personalities and vivid characters. They have a rich and powerful inner world, and are searching for the true nature of life in their lonely and sober journey. This way of writing draws attention to the long-neglected culture of the Jajong and the’marginalised’ people in the corners of it,thus expanding the connotation of the text and making it more universal and transcendent. This article focuses on a close reading of Alai’s fictional works, taking into account the cultural psychology of the author’s creation and relevant literary theories, and examines the classification, spiritual connotation and artistic presentation of the’marginalized’ in Alai’s novels in detail. In the introductory part, the background and significance of the study of the "marginal man" in Alai’s novels are firstly explained, followed by an overview of the current situation of the study of Alai’s novels in China;finally, the development of the concept of "marginal man" is explained, and the development of other representative literary works and Alai’s novels are discussed. The first chapter examines the genealogy of the characters of the "marginalized" in Alai’s novels as a whole, identifying three types of marginalized people: heroes, holy fools and intellectuals. The third chapter focuses on the artistic techniques of A Lai’s novels, which are discussed in three aspects: the calm and restrained narrative style, the spatial structure of Sino-Tibetan juxtaposition, and the free transformation of multiple perspectives. The concluding remarks summarize the whole text and explore the literary-historical and social significance of A Lai’s writing on "marginalized people". |
