Organ music played an important role in the art and culture of the 17 th century,during which time the south and north German organ music school had an indelible influence in the history of organ music.Dietrich Buxtehude(1637-1707),as an outstanding representative of the North German organ school,is regarded as the leader of the baroque organ music.He created various types of organ music,which contributed a tremendous force to the inheritance and development of organ music,setting a milestone for future generations.The first chapter is an overview of seventeenth century German organ music.This article expounds the history of German organ music in the seventeenth century and the formation of Buxtehude’s personal music style,leading to the connection between the musical styles of south and north German organs in the seventeenth century.The second chapter is about the presentation of the musical style of the south and north German organ school in the Praeludim,Fuga and Ciacona in C major.Taking Buxtehude’s organ work Praeludim,Fuga and Ciacona in C major as an example,this thesis analyzes the south and north German musical styles,explores how Buxtehude integrated and dialectically unified the south and north German organ school’s musical styles,and analyzes how Buxtehude’s musical style influenced the creation and performance of future organ music with Bach as an example.The third chapter is the deductive analysis of Praeludim,Fuga and Ciacona in C major.Based on the actual situation,this thesis sorts out the key points of performance in Praeludim,Fuga and Ciacona in C major,and analyzes and elaborates on the selection and configuration of the timbre of the stops.
