Study On The Phonetic Function Of Modern Phonograph Characters

Phonogram is the core of phonogram in modern Chinese characters.But the accuracy of phonogram is very low.It is of great significance to study the phonetic function of modern pictophonics to clarify the evolution of Chinese characters,understand the nature of Chinese characters correctly and promote the development of modern Chinese characters.This paper adheres to the principle of system theory,uses the historical comparison method,takes the orthographic prefix of Xinhua Dictionary(12th edition)as the material,selects all the modern phonograms and extracts the phonograms,establishes the phonograms-phonograms linkage database,and reveals the general picture of phonograms.The paper classifies and describes the phonograph,analyzes the phonograph function,and draws the conclusion that the accuracy of phonograph is low in modern phonograph.This paper analyzes the reasons for the low accuracy of phonetic expression from two aspects: the influence of language system on characters and the self-adjustment of characters.The introduction part introduces the significance of this topic,the current research status of the academic circle,and the basic information of Xinhua Dictionary(12th edition).The first chapter analyzes the theory of shape and sound and defines the modern shape and sound characters.Introduce the concept of phonograms,the formation and characteristics of phonograms.On the basis of defining modern Chinese characters,this paper makes a definition of modern pictographic characters."The phonetic character is produced for the purpose of enhancing the function of marking words and other words",the function of phonetic character is to show the source,the sound is a by-product;In addition to the meaning function,sememe also has the distinction function.It clarified the defining process and rules of modern pictographic characters and phonics,and obtained that Xinhua Dictionary(12th edition)has a total of 7,743 modern pictographic characters.Chapter two describes the phonological character as a whole.The structure of the phonograph is segmented and the phonograph location is analyzed.According to whether the phoneme is a word or not,the phoneme is divided into character phoneme and non-character phoneme.According to the relationship between phonogram and phonograph,modern phonograph is divided into standard phonograph,quasi-phonograph and sign phonograph.According to the statistics of various types of phonetic characters,standard phonetic characters accounted for 35.4%,quasi-phonetic characters 52.55% and marker phonetic characters 12.05%;It is found that only about one third of phonograph characters agree with phonograph characters,and more than one tenth of phonograph characters.The third chapter analyzes the phonetic function of the character.The paper discusses the general situation of word phonograph,monosyllabic phonograph and polyphonograph.This paper discusses the phonogram function of phonogram from two aspects: the ability of phonogram to represent syllables and the ability of phonogram to form phonogram characters.On this basis,it puts forward the ideal state of phonogram to represent phonogram,clarifies the concept of ideal phonogram and ideal phonogram characters,and analyzes the phonogram characteristics of ideal phonogram.The fourth chapter analyzes the phonetic function of the noncharacter character.According to the source,it can be divided into three categories: ellipsis,variant form and false form.This paper discusses the phonetic function of non-phonetic characters from two aspects: the type of syllables represented by non-phonetic characters and the number of phonographs formed by symbols,and summarizes the phonetic rule of non-phonetic characters.The fifth chapter explores the reasons for the low accuracy of the phonetic symbols of modern pictophonics.It is mainly reflected in the influence of language system on character symbols and the combination and adjustment of character symbols.The influence of language on writing is manifested in phonetic evolution and word formation.Phonetic evolution is the main reason,and phonetic formation is an important supplement.The influence of characters on language is manifested in the limitations of phonography-forming method and the evolution of Chinese character shape,which is an important reason.
