| The aria "You Are My Everything" is from Hungarian composer Lehar’s light opera "The Kingdom of Smiles",a mysteriously colored opera with a Chinese mood from a Western perspective.Lehar has created a new era in the genre of light opera,injecting fresh blood into the Viennese light opera genre and forming a new style of Viennese light opera.The aria "You are my everything",as an important piece to convey the emotion of the male character in the opera,not only deeply portrays the character,but also plays a key role in driving the development of the drama.This thesis was written by consulting a lot of relevant literature references and combining the author’s study and singing experience to study the musical characteristics and singing of the aria "You are my everything" from Lehar’s light opera "The Kingdom of Smiles".In the process of the study,it was found that the composer used a lot of modernistic musical elements in the structure,harmony and melody,which gave the composition a more modern life.In the analysis of how to sing the work,it was found through breath and resonance,language and characterization of the role that the singer has to do is to intertwine each part and understand that vocal music is a comprehensive art.Finally,the stage presentation of tenors of the same period is analyzed,and the understanding of different tenors of the same piece is visually discovered by means of comparison.It is hoped that this study can deepen vocal singers’ understanding and knowledge of the work and provide some reference and help for subsequent singing. |
