Research On "Ten Kings

The Ten Kings belief had a very extensive influence in China,leaving a large number of related documents and relics.In addition to the Classics of the Ten Kings found in Dunhuang and other places and statues of the Ten Kings around the country,there are also the imperial rites of the Ten Kings preserved among the people.However,the Ten King rituals have not been studied too much.First of all,the "Ten Kings" studied in this paper is a new material that has not been studied deeply by predecessors,so it has very important value.The study of this paper is also the protection of these rituals,and it can introduce the content of "The ritual text of Ten Kings" to people.In addition to the Ten Kings scripture,the ritual text of Ten Kings is also involved in the Sutra of Merit and Virtue of the Past Vows of Medicine Master Vaidurya Light Tathagata,the Sutra of Yama King’s Five Days’ Messenger,the Brahma Net Sutra and the Sutra of the Buddhist Bodhisattva’s Original Vow.Therefore,the rituals of Ten Kings can also be studied as a different version of these documents and an example of the spread among the folk.This paper firstly records,annotates and collates the "Ten King Sciences" to provide detailed information for later researchers.After that,the rituals and procedures of each Ten King family were sorted out,and then several Ten King families were divided into two categories according to the similarities and differences of the combination of programs.After classification,the content of the specific ceremony section is studied,and the similarities and differences of different kinds of "Ten Kings Families" are carefully sorted out and compared.In the specific analysis of the text content,it is found that the ritual text of Ten Kings refers a large number of the contents of Ten Kings scripture,the Sutra of Merit and Virtue of the Past Vows of Medicine Master Vaidurya Light Tathagata,and the Original Vow of Ti-tsang Bodhisattva,which directly explains that these sutras are the sources of the rituals of Ten Kings,and the rituals of Ten Kings are the embodiment of Ten Kings’ belief and Ti-tsang belief.Through a detailed investigation of the content,we can also find out the way and function of the ritual text,or the meaning of Zhaiyi.It can also enrich the existing research on the belief of the Ten Kings.
