In 1821,the first performance of the opera Der Freischutz in Berlin marked the birth of the German Romantic Opera,which also represents the development of European opera into a new period.Its performance was warmly welcomed by the audience.The audience was deeply attracted by the strong romantic color and distinctive German national style in the opera,The successful performance of Der Freischutz caused a strong response in the context of German nationalism in the early 19th century.This paper will analyze and interpret this work in three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the development of German nationalism in the early 19th century,and summarizes the creative background of Der Freischutz.From the national consciousness in early German politics and culture,as well as the nationalist tendency shown in music,The national thoughts in music criticism and early German opera creation are analyzed emphatically.This paper discusses the creation background of the opera in the context of nationalist history.The second chapter is based on the perspective of nationalism,the music ontology analysis of Der Freischutz and the interpretation of the nationality in the music text.characters and drama scenes.Mainly from the opera’s national characteristics,music language,characters and folk drama scene four aspects of the narrative,Among them,the national characteristics are mainly discussed from the script source of opera,the inheritance of German and Italian singing opera,and then the musical language is analyzed,which leads to the discussion of the character image building based on the binary opposition mode.The third chapter combines the content of the first two chapters,through summarizing and analyzing,to interpret the national meaning and artistic value of the opera Der Freischutz.The first section analyzes the German Romantic spirit embodied in the opera,Mainly from the German romantic aesthetic characteristics and the performance of the German national style of these two aspects.The second section analyzes the artistic value of opera and its influence on Wagner’s music creation from the perspective of nationalism. |
