| With the further development of globalization,exchanges between countries are becoming more and more frequent.Due to the fact that people are eager to learn about hot events abroad via news,accurate translation of foreign current affairs news is the critical point of effective information transformation.This thesis takes the series reports on the Ukrainian refugee crisis on Fox News as the Chinese translation material,gives full play to the translator’s subjectivity,makes an in-depth discussion on the translation difficulties,and studies the writing style and translation strategies of the mainstream media in the UK and the US.The thesis first clarifies the research background and significance of this translation practice,reviews the current search condition of news translation at home and abroad,and further analyzes it from the aspects of vocabulary,sentences and text.In terms of lexical level,the study will analyze the terminologies,abbreviations and hedging words.In terms of syntactic level,sequential translation,reverse translation and division translation are used to deal with long and difficult sentences.In terms of textual level,it focuses on two dimensions:coherence and cohesion.Finally,the author summarizes the experience and limitations of this translation practice. |
