As a bilateral term,"gaze" creates and recreates the identity of the gazer and highlights the perspective of the gazer and the gazer.Individuals are shaped into social subjects in the gaze of the Great Other,and their bodies are passively accepted,transformed and inscribed,which is a visual symbol marking various identities.Michel Foucault believed that the body is a fundamental entity without soul and consciousness;Jacques Lacan believed that stone sculptures were devoid of flesh and the gaze they cast was permanent and eternal.Therefore,the author chooses plaster human sculpture as the main content of this creation,breaking it to highlight the characteristics of individuals constructing their own integrity and identity fluidity,and causing people’s resonance of drifting in a complex environment and constantly searching for ID.In oil painting creation,through the portrayal of plaster human sculpture,the color area and artistic conception creation are studied,the works are endowed with emotion and artistry,and the individuals in the current society are explored to exert their body initiative under the gaze,and express their inner thinking.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part traces the origin of gaze theory from a historical perspective,and then analyzes the application of gaze theory in the field of art.The second part,based on the author’s understanding of the meaning of gaze,analyzes the artistic works of Salvador Dali and Barbara Kruger,and explores the specific expression of other’s gaze and self-identity positioning in the artists’ works.The third part focuses on the work and elaborates the origin of the author’s creation and the expression of gaze meaning in the work.The fourth part clarifies the author’s creation harvest and inspiration,including the author’s exploration of the combination of the picture expression form and the meaning of gaze in the creation process,and the extension of the realistic value and significance of gaze theory.
