Goa Inquisition was established in 1560 and finally abolished in 1812.Hinduism had the largest numbers of faith in Goa,so Hindus became the main target of operation of Goa Inquisition.In 16th century,Goa Inquisition destroied Hindu temples and proselytized Hindu faith.And in 17th and 18th centuries,Goa Inquisition adopted Hindu orphans.There were full of obstacles in the process of policy implementation of Goa Inquisition,because most policies were resisted by Hindus.Goa Inquisition was the only one Portuguese Inquisition out of Portugal,which had a huge impact on both Goa hindus and the rule of Estado da(?)ndia.The large number of Hindus converted by Goa Inquisition intensified the conflict between Hindus and Christians,which drove a large number of Hindus out of Portuguese colonies.Goa Inquisition accelerated the spread of Christianity in Asia,but the policies of deportations decreased the population of Goa and influenced the economy and trade of Goa,which made negative effects of the rule of Estado da(?)ndia. |
