The Research Of Bee Imagery Among Poetry Of The Song Dynasty

The bee is a common insect image in Song poetry.As early as in the Pre-Qin period,this image,the poisonous wasps appeared in the Book of Songs.In the Southern Dynasties,Xiao Gang wrote the first poem ode to the bee.It was more frequently referred in the poetry of the Tang Dynasty.Moreover,its image became a representative of insects in spring in the Song Dynasty,when this image,with distinctive characteristics,was involved in an increasing number of poems.First of all,people in this period maintained this image as described in the previous poetry,and then created the dual image of bee "picking flowers and making honey" and "like a poisonous needle stinging people",making it get rid of the one-sided and symbolic characteristics.Secondly,with the development of beekeeping economy in the Song Dynasty,bee products had an increasingly important impact on their life and deepened their understanding of bees in an effective way.Therefore,more detailed descriptions were presented in Song poetry,as the image of bee in literature is further enriched through the depiction of their body parts,their states of activities,their products and hives etc.Thirdly,combined with other images of flowers,insects and birds,the diversity of its image was showed and its aesthetic connotation was discussed more clearly.In addition,bee products were also the object written in Song poetry.Honey contributing to health preservation became an ordinary food in Song poetry,and its sweet taste was endowed with the meaning of treasure and beauty by the people at that time.In the "Honey class",the living condition of bees was under discussion,and its practical significance was also considered and so on.What’s more,its image in the Buddhist culture deserves our attention.The regret of bee being busy,the Zen case of "bee throwing window" have been written into poems.In conclusion,people in the Song dynasty made an observation of the bee in a more thorough and careful way,and thought about its connotation in depth.Its image was more three-dimensional,diverse and far-reaching,forming a mature system in writing.
