With the rapid development and growth of economy and society,the status of English is becoming more and more conspicuous.The acquisition of English as a foreign language is closely related to various external environmental factors.At present,English is one of the compulsory courses at the stage of compulsory education,and educating students is a task that requires mutual cooperation among schools,families and society.Family environment,as one of the important external factors that affect students’ language acquisition,is directly related to whether junior high school students’ interest in English learning can be developed or not.Based on this,the researcher carried out a study on the influence of family environment on the English learning interest of junior middle school students.The researcher focused on the influence of family environment on the English learning interest of junior high school students from three aspects: the family environment factors,the performance of the parents,and the ways to improve the influence on the students’ interest in learning English.First of all,the researcher analyzed and combed the relevant information about the influence of family environment on students’ learning interest at home and abroad through consulting the literature.The researcher clarified and found that both domestic and foreign researchers agree that family environment has an impact on students’ learning interest.And the researcher defined the concept of family environment and learning interest,and determined the research subjects,research questions and research methods of this study.Then,Grade One students from three schools in Wuhua District of Kunming were tested in English,and a questionnaire survey was conducted.To guarantee the validity of the findings,the researcher conducted an interview with the parents,teachers and students.Then,according to the results of the questionnaire and interview,the researcher analyzed whether the family environment has an impact on the students’ interest in English learning or not.Factors as the effect of the family environment on the students’ interest in English learning,including the examination results,attitudes to English learning,time to complete English homework of students,and the behavior of parents,family cultural environment,family teaching methods and family participation have been analyzed.It is found that family cultural environment,parental behavior,family education style and family participation in the family environment have certain effects on students’ interest development in English learning.The better the parental behavior in the family is,the more books and cultural learning resources the family have,the better family cultural atmosphere is,and the stronger the interest of students in English learning is.The more suitable ways of family education have,the higher the parents’ participation in students’ learning is,and the more interested the students are in learning English.According to the problems existing in the family environment,the researcher put forward suggestions for parents,teachers and students to solve the problems,and also analyzed the shortcomings of this study.
