| The Four Winds,a historical fiction written by Kristin Hannah,was published in2021.Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression in the United States,the book describes growth experience through the eyes of an indomitable woman,reflecting the spiritual power of human beings to survive in adversity.In the report,the translator selected 1-5 chapters,using Feminist Translation Theory to discuss how to express the meaning that the author wants to convey,and to highlight the spiritual power and feminist consciousness contained in the book.The writing process is divided into four stages.Firstly,the report gives a detailed description of its task.Secondly,the translator describes the translation process.Thirdly,the translator introduces the theory used in this report and analyzes the cases in translation under the guidance of Feminist Translation Theory.Finally,the report presents the translator’s reflections,as well as its limitations.Through the analysis of translation,this report emphasizes that translators can use“prefacing and footnoting”,“supplementing”,and “hijacking” to better convey the author’s meaning.The use of these strategies makes the text meaning and values better understood and accepted by readers.With the development of society,feminism has attracted more and more people’s attention.I hope this report can provide people with reference and help. |
