| This study explores the following questions: 1)The influence of deep content dimensions on composition quality from a lexical perspective.2)How the quantified characteristics of lexical features affect composition quality.3)What lexical features are presented in compositions of different quality across genres.4)A regression equation that can predict the quality of Chinese bilingual compositions is modelled based on the above questions.Due to various constraints, this study explores the influence of superficial and deep dimensions on composition quality from a lexical perspective while considering stylistic differences. The research in this paper is divided into four parts as follows.Firstly, based on previous studies, the lexical features of essay scoring are analyzed in five dimensions: lexical density and lexical diversity, lexical complexity, lexical accuracy, chapter vocabulary and content vocabulary, and the characteristics of argumentative and narrative essays are analyzed to determine the set of features to be quantified;secondly, the 988 HSK essay corpus obtained is processed to obtain the frequency of occurrence of specified statistical vocabulary for each text through software;and Again, using multiple regression statistics, the prediction formulas for the quality of compositions in different genres and at each quality level were obtained;finally, the models were tested and the differences in the occurrence of vocabulary features in compositions in different genres and levels were analyzed. The experiments prove that the prediction model of Chinese bilingual composition quality constructed in this study is feasible.Vocabulary features have a greater impact on the performance of argumentative essays, and the large differences in vocabulary features between the two genres indicate that it is necessary for the essay scoring system to differentiate between the genres of essays when grading scores;on the content vocabulary and chapter vocabulary dimensions, both dimensions have an impact on the quality of essays, but it is still the shallow level indicator that best determines the quality of essays. |
