A Study Of Female Images In Cui Zhen Xi Novels Before Liberation

Throughout the history of modern Korean literature,the 1930 s is a very important era for women’s literature to establish its status.As a colonial intellectual,the deeds of many female writers who have made progress on the road of exploration have made contributions to modern Korean literature.The very active female education since the civilized period not only gave women the opportunity to practice literature,but also prepared magazine and newspaper pages for female readers,which became the opportunity for the formation of female literature in the 1930 s.It can be said that from this time on,intellectual women stood in the position of women and showed their existence in society or as individuals in literary works.In the 1930 s,the situation of the literary world was mostly a period of personal work activities,so there were many female writers.Their works subjectively raised social problems and exposed the reality of Japanese Colonial underground.The work of the theory of women’s liberation as human equality shows the social concern of advocating the protection of women’s personality.This paper focuses on Cui Zhenxi’s novels,which show the changes in the literary world.Cui Zhenxi’s novel "three veins",published before liberation,exposed many female contradictions and traditional motherhood in reality that have to deny the subject consciousness of modern women,while pursuing self liberation.The three heroines in three veins have something in common in image.This paper takes Cui Zhenxi’s novel "three veins" before liberation as the center,and takes various female images presented in the novel as the center.Through the content of the novel,this paper analyzes how women who exist as others in the patriarchal society are oppressed and excluded,and how they behave.By investigating the ways in which women receiving new education pursue self liberation under various unreasonable conditions,and then reveal the writers’ female consciousness through the female images in the novel.Most of the protagonists in Cui Zhenxi’s novels are women.Moreover,the lives of these heroes are not smooth.Cui Zhenxi’s novels before liberation,such as earth,people,heaven,phantom,silence and phantom,have a large number of female images in contradiction between women and motherhood under the paternalistic social system.Based on this,this paper attempts to study the heroine’s character image and its value from the perspective of feminism.The first chapter of this paper expounds the research purpose and significance,reviews the existing research history,and puts forward the research content and research methods.In the third chapter,the author tries to understand the characteristics and value of female characters in Cui Zhenxi’s novels before liberation.The first section focuses on the short stories earth,heaven and people to understand the tragedies suffered by the heroines due to the unreasonable marriage system.The second section is three veins and crying.The third section focuses on the three veins to explore the sacrifice of women due to motherhood and the return of motherhood.The fourth chapter,as the conclusion of this paper,based on the previous discussion,synthesizes the literary situation during Cui Zhenxi’s activities and the characters of the heroines in the pre liberation novels,trying to reveal the literary history value of Cui Zhenxi’s pre liberation novels.
