| As the most widely used language in the world,English phonetics has been paid more and more attention to.It is an important practical and theoretical work to describe the learning status of English phonetics in Chinese learners and to analyze the role of native dialect in English phonetics transfer. In this paper,we use quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis, acoustic experiment and comparative analysis to describe and compare the acoustic position of Shandong dialect’s monophthongs with Intermediary English’s monophthongs, and study the language transfer between Shandong dialect’s monophthongs and Intermediary English’s monophthongs. This will not only help to explore the general law of the language transfer, but also help to put forward targeted correction methods and teaching suggestions on the English phonetics teaching for Shandong learners. The contents of this paper are as follows: the first part is an introduction, which includes the background and significance of the study, the current situation and trend of the study, the focus and difficulty of the study, the foundation and general situation of the study, the methods and data of the study. The second part is “a study on the language transfer between Jiaoliao dialect’s monophthongs and Intermediary English’s monophthongs”.We chose four counties’ dialects as the represents of Jiaoliao dialect, which include Rongcheng,Qixia,Changyi,Gaomi. The third part is “a study on the language transfer between Jilu dialect’s monophthongs and Intermediary English’s monophthongs”.We chose four counties’ dialects as the represents of Jilu dialect, which include Gaoqing,Wudi,Lixia,Laiwu. The fourth part is “a study on the language transfer between Zhongyuan dialect’s monophthongs and Intermediary English’s monophthongs”.We chose two counties’ dialects as the represents of Zhongyuan dialect, which include Chengwu and Zoucheng. The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper. The conclusion of this paper is as follows:(1)Shandong dialect’s monophthongs have more negative transfer and less positive transfer to Intermediary English’s monophthongs.(2)Influenced by the small differences between dialect monophthongs in Shandong province, there is a strong consistency in the dialect transfer of college students.(3)Intermediary English’s monophthongs are negatively transferred by Shandong dialect’s monophthongs in the overall pattern.(4)Different from standard English,Shandong dialect does not have distinctive feature of length in its monophthongs, which easily leads to the phenomenon of “equal classification”.(5)Influenced by the phenomenon of "equal classification",the two intermediary English’s vowels with opposite length are easy to be confused. And except long vowel [i],the stability of short vowels are stronger than the other one.(6)Shandong dialect’s monophthongs are more active in the dimension of front and back.Influenced by this phenomenon,Intermediary English’s monophthongs have the same pattern. As a result,it is relatively easier for most learners to grasp the height of tongue position in the learning of English monophthongs. |
