The Application Of Surrealist Tendencies In The Contemporary Fine Drawings

Since the establishment of the Chinese Contemporary Fine Drawings Association in the 1980 s,the Contemporary Fine Drawing has gradually come into the public eye.The Contemporary Fine Drawing,unlike the traditional brushwork of the Song and Yuan dynasties,is a new form of painting that blends the language of traditional brushwork with that of Western painting.It is not a form of fetishism that completely rejects tradition,nor is it a rigid application,but rather a form that adds new ideas while retaining traditional techniques.By cleverly blending them together,a ’new fine drawing’ with new visual effects was created.Influenced by Surrealism,the Contemporary Fine Drawing has transformed into a new mode of innovative thinking,providing contemporary brush painting with creative ideas that respond to the needs of the times.On the basis of this thinking,the painting characteristics and artistic forms of the Contemporary Fine Drawing have been sorted out under the influence of Surrealism.Combined with traditional Chinese cultural thought,the techniques of substitution and metaphor in Surrealism are applied to the creation of the Contemporary Fine Drawing,thus revealing a new style of the Contemporary Fine Drawing.In this study,the causes and characteristics of the application of surrealism in the creation of Fine Drawing were clearly collated and summarized.Moreover,how different painters apply the techniques of splicing,appropriation,grafting and metaphor with a surrealist tendency in their pictures was also analyzed,presenting a dreamy,individual and disorienting visual effect.Guided by the idea of freedom of creation with a surrealist tendency,combined with its own overall concept of pulsing from dream to reality,the traditional folklore and cultural ideas of the Shan Hai Jing and the environmental problems faced by modern society are incorporated into the creation,thus demonstrating the results of the application of the surrealist tendency in the Contemporary Fine Drawing.The Contemporary Fine Drawing,under the influence of surrealism,has gradually developed a unique artistic style and artistic characteristics.Although the Contemporary Fine Drawing is on the path of change and is not yet supported by a clear theoretical system,it has been proven through practical action that Contemporary Fine Drawing with a surrealist tendency is practicable.In creative practice,animals and landscapes clearly use a proportional relationship that is inappropriate to reality.The question of the relationship between humanity and nature is expressed through the dialogue between classical iconography and Western animals.Although the Contemporary Fine Drawing is influenced by foreign cultures and formal concepts,the blood of each creator wanting to pass on Chinese culture in their work is constant.It is hoped that with our constant exploration and study of tradition and innovation,the Contemporary Fine Drawing will gradually emerge as a path of its own.
