| Truth is the charm of documentaries, and emotion is the soul.Documentaries reflect life and record history in a realistic and objective manner, and documentaries on rural themes are even more direct in their focus on rural life and reflect the current state of the countryside. From the 18 th Party Congress, when it was first formally proposed to build a moderately prosperous society, which kicked off the battle against poverty in the new era,to February 5,2021,when General Secretary Xi Jinping solemnly declared at the National Poverty Eradication and Commendation Conference that "China’s battle against poverty has achieved a comprehensive victory".What can be seen is that under the leadership of the Party, the countryside has undergone radical changes, people’s lives have improved significantly, and people’s feelings towards the countryside have changed from "not wanting to remember" to "remembering nostalgia".The emergence of a series of documentaries on rural themes, such as "Remembering Nostalgia","China’s New Farmers" and "China’s Villages",not only reflects the humanistic concern of the creators, but also expresses the people’s voices and emotions, reclaiming the fading memories of the countryside and building a spiritual home for people.Based on a review of contemporary documentary studies on rural themes, this article analyses the rural image and context of contemporary documentaries on rural themes. From the emotional connotation and humanistic sentiment in rural documentaries, the humanistic value of emotional expression in rural documentaries is discussed.Through the use of media, the selection of scenes and symbols, and the multiple expressions of rural emotions, the path of presenting emotions in rural documentaries is analysed. Finally, the theoretical results of the research are applied to the creation of the documentary Beautiful Yanshan Hong, and the emotional connotations contained in Beautiful Yanshan Hong are explored through the excavation of emotions and the multi-dimensional presentation of emotions in the creation process. |
