A Report On The Translation Of The 2021 Diplomatic White Paper Of The Rok(Excerpt) From The Perspective Of Text Typology Theory

This translation practice report takes the 2021 Diplomatic White Paper of the ROK as the translation research object to explore the Korean-Chinese translation of information texts guided by text typology theory.Based on the characteristics of surrounding situations and the realistic demands,this report selected Chapter 3 of the2021 Diplomatic White Paper of the ROK as translation texts.Based on analysis of the characteristics of the texts and the characteristics of the target audiences,this report uses text typology theory to guide translation practice,analyzing the difficulties encountered in the Korean-Chinese translation of the 2021 Diplomatic White Paper of the ROK,and also summarizes the Korean-Chinese translation skills of this sort of texts in Korean.This translation practice report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the research background,research purposes and research significance of the report.The second chapter is the theoretical foundation,which organizes the main views and contents of text typology theory,and also the overseas and domestic research actuality of text typology theory in guiding translation practice,and expounds the applicability of text typology theory to this translation task.The third chapter is the process description,which mainly commences from three stages:pre-translation,mid-translation and post-translation,and introduces the translation practice process in each related stage.The fourth chapter is the case study,which is the core content of this translation practice report.It mainly combines with translation examples,applying the text typology theory,analyzing the key and difficult problems encountered in translation practice from two levels of Vocabulary and Sentence respectively,and then puts forward reasonable solutions.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,which generalizes this translation practice,comprehensively summarizing the translation guidelines and translation methods adopted in this translation practice,and then elaborates the author’s feelings and experiences in this translation practice.This translation practice focuses on the characteristics of surrounding situations and the realistic demands,so that the selected texts can provide references for our part to grasp the diplomatic status quo of the ROK,and predict its diplomatic tendency as well as analyze our surrounding situations.Meanwhile,this translation practice is guided by the text typology theory,exploring the Korean-Chinese translation of political and diplomatic texts in Korean,and puts forward reasonable methods and schemes to solve the difficulties IIIin translation,which will provide some thinking and references for the Korean-Chinese translation of information texts in Korean from the perspective of text typology theory.
