Objective: Approximate number system is a mathematical ability.Studies have shown that the acuity of approximate number system can be improved with a number of interventions. The reason why the acute aerobic exercise intervention affects the approximate number system is also unclear. The reason why acute aerobic exercise intervention affects the approximate number system is also unclear.Studies have shown that there is a correlation between the approximate number system and inhibitory control, and acute aerobic exercise can improve inhibitory control. This paper attempts to answer these two questions through two experiments. Methods: Experiment 1 adopted a correlation design, and selected 47 college students(15 boys)with an average age of 20.10(±1.77)years.Approximate number systes were measured using the point-count comparison task, and inhibitory control ability was measured using the Stroop task. The point comparison task selects reaction time, correct rate and Weber coefficient as dependent variables, and the Stroop task selects reaction time and correct rate as dependent variables.Experiment 2 adopted a within-subject research design.27 college students(13 boys)were selected, with an average age of 20.33(±1.73)years old.The subjects participated in 30 minutes of moderate-intensity acute aerobic exercise intervention and 30 minutes of meditation.Using ERP technology, the point comparison task and the Stroop task were selected to measure the brain activity of the subjects when they completed the above tasks. The average amplitude of the P2 p component on the electrode points was selected as the dependent variable for the point comparison task, and the P300 component and N450 component were selected for the Stroop task. The mean amplitudes of the components and SP components at the electrode points were used as dependent variables. Results: The results of experiment 1 found that the correct rate of the point comparison task was significantly related to the correct rate of the Stroop task;the correct rate of the point comparison task was significantly related to the correct rate of the consistent and inconsistent conditions of the Stroop task;the Weber coefficient of the1.1,1.2,1.3,2 ratios was significantly associated with the reaction time of the stroop task. The results of experiment 2 found that on the correct rate of the point comparison task, the main effect of intervention was significant;the main effect of ratio was significant;the main effect of condition was significant;the interaction effect between intervention and ratio was marginally significant, the simple effect analysis showed that the correct rate of the simple ratio was significantly higher than the correct ratio of the difficult ratio after acute aerobic exercise, and the correct ratio of the simple ratio was significantly higher than that of the difficult ratio after sitting. At the 1.3 ratio, the intervention difference was significant. The main effect of condition was significant on the reaction time of the Stroop task, the mean amplitude of N450 and the mean amplitude of SP.The response time of the subjects in the post-sit consistent condition was significantly correlated with the mean P300 amplitude of the post-sit consistent condition, there was a significant correlation between the correct rate of the participants in the consistent condition after sitting and the mean P300 amplitude of the consistent condition after sitting.Conclusions:(1)There is a correlation between the approximate number system and the inhibitory control ability.(2)Moderate-intensity acute aerobic exercise did not significantly improve the approximate number system of college students aged 18-25,and inhibitory control did not play a mediating role in the process of acute aerobic exercise affecting the approximate number system.
