| As the master of the development of Confucianism to the Song Dynasty,Zhu Xi brought new vitality to Confucianism.Among the Song Confucians,Zhang Zai,Zhou Dun Yi,Cheng Hao,Cheng Yi,Li Tong and others left many important discussions on "benevolence",which had an important impact on Zhu Xi’s benevolence thought to varying degrees. In the face of "benevolence",which is extremely difficult to describe in Confucianism,Zhu Xi made his own interpretation with his decades of seeking benevolence. As far as the issue of "benevolence" is concerned,Zhang Zai’s Xi Ming’s theory of " Qian Kun parents " first triggered a debate among scholars with Cheng Hao,Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi as the core, and it was the probe of Song Confucianism on the issue of "benevolence".Basic text is provided.Through the debate on the theory of "Qian Kun parents",Zhu Xi clarified the important basis for the emergence of "benevolence",and on this basis,he began to seek the real manifestation of "benevolence".Relevant literature shows that as early as the period of studying Li Tong,Zhu Xi interpreted "benevolence" based on the meaning of Xi Ming.Even though his thinking at that time was a little superficial, under the guidance of Li Tong and Zhu Xi’s own reflection,he gradually entered the field of ontology. As he matured,he began to seek to provide a basis for "benevolence" on a metaphysical level. He really entered into the theoretical description of "benevolence",and began his ontological thinking and construction.Throughout Zhu Xi’s exploration of "benevolence",the dynamic perception of "benevolence" has always supported his ideological development. In the face of the indescribable "benevolence" of Confucianism,he gradually abandoned the question of what "benevolence" is,and continued to "be benevolence" with real life experience. For him,"benevolence" is no longer a concept existing in Confucian discourses, and it is manifested as an unproven preexistence, but a practice closely linked to his life.In this sense,Zhu Xi completed his understanding of Confucian benevolence, from trying to explain what "benevolence" is to a real understanding of "benevolence". |
