A Study On Ding Zishen’s Prose

Ding Zishen,courtesy name is Peng Yue and pseudonym is Huai Jiang.He was a essayist in Quanzhou,Fujian province.And he lived in the middle of Ming Dynasty,going through the reign of Jiajing,Longqing and Wanli.He was sequentially employed as head of the Operation and repair Department of nanjing Ministry of Industry,Sichuan Shunqing prefect and Guangxi Wuzhou prefect.He is uprightness and incorruptibility.Besides,Ding Zishen have the intelligence in the field of prose due to his amounts of creation.His literatures were highly appraised by the world.This text will investigate Ding’s life stories,interpersonal social contact etc and explore the main content,characters,creative cause,status and the value of his prose,through collecting the relevant local records and other relevant anthology document record.Afterwards we could summarize the achievement of his essays and discuss his status in the literature history of Fujian to further study on Ding Zishen himself and the articles.The essays created by Ding are fully rich in content,with various styles,sincere affection,rigorous structure,colorful expression,therefore showing his profound knowledge and good writing skills.In his articles,he repeatedly raised opposition to the idea of back to the ancients.Ding’s works have the significant status and values in the literature history of Fujian and even Ming Dynasty.This paper is divided into three chapters to analyze Ding Zishen and his writings.In the introduction part we mainly summarize the current situation about the study on Ding Zishen,including the analysis of the achievement and disadvantages already achieved.The first chapter of the article,we investigate Ding’s life stories and interpersonal social contact based on referring to amounts of local records and historical document.The second chapter of the article,we mainly discusses the style and content of Ding Zishen’s prose in different categories.Firstly we introduce the general situation of his anthology.Secondly we classify them by style and then explain the major content of each category.Thirdly the essays’ content will summarized and analyzed together with his works.Finally we will summarize and pursue the main features of Ding’s essays.The third chapter of the article,we will analyze and state the characters created and style cause by Ding Zishen from the perspective of creation,combining with all his work.And the values,status,artistic achievement and the impact of Ding’s essays will be analyzed and discussed accordingly.The final part is appendix,which is mainly a collection of the missing articles in Ding Zishen’s anthology.
