A Study On The Tragedy Of Ban Yu’s Novels

As an aesthetic category,tragedy is one of the important theoretical choices to study writers’ creation.In recent years,a series of new generation northeast writers represented by Ban Yu have risen.Their works are mainly based on the northeast region after the reform of state-owned enterprises in the 1990 s.With the changes of the times,the tide of modernity represented by market economy formed a strong impact on the long-standing planned economic system in Northeast in the late 1990 s,and the northeast economy has entered a lost era since then.The subsequent decline also includes the culture of Northeast.In the past two decades,the historical and cultural image of Northeast China has gradually been comedized and even alienated.This tendency of comedization and alienation has gradually obscured the tragic emotional structure formed by the tragic reality left by northeast people after the impact of the wave of modernity,The struggle and redemption of the northeast people after suffering from the tragic fate,as well as the tragic humanistic spirit hidden in the regional spirit of the northeast people since modern times,are no longer mentioned.Ban Yu’s novels reconstruct the long hidden Northeast regional spirit and the emotional structure of ordinary people behind the grand historical narration by telling the tragic fate of small people under the impact of the historical wave,and endow the tragic writing with more profound significance.Taking Ban Yu’s novel creation as the text and "tragedy" as the theoretical basis,this paper expounds Ban Yu’s northeast regional spirit and ordinary people’s tragic humanistic spirit in his works from four aspects: the source of tragic meaning,the tragic meaning of the theme,the tragic characteristics of the characters,and the value of tragic spirit.The first chapter mainly through the study of "Utopia" and "northeast Renaissance",expounds the historical changes of Northeast China since modern times and the otherness and comedy of Northeast regional image in recent 20 years,and reveals the source of the tragic meaning of Ban Yu’s novels.Based on the tragic theme of the text,the second chapter reveals the tragic meaning embodied in the overall theme of ban Yu’s works through the material and spiritual plight of the bottom people in the historical changes embodied in Ban Yu’s novels.The third chapter goes deep into the text,starting with the two typical characters of "father generation" and "son generation" created in Ban Yu’s novels,through the study of the different tragic characteristics of the two generations in the same era due to different experiences,reveals the different character characteristics of ordinary people in the face of tragic reality in the special era,and then leads to the fourth chapter,It shows the struggle and self redemption of ordinary northeast people in Ban Yu’s novels in the face of tragic reality,looks for the tragic humanistic spirit engraved in the bones of northeast people,and finally reveals that the significance of writing tragedy in Ban Yu’s novels lies in the defense of Northeast People’s self subjectivity,as well as the pioneering and unyielding Northeast regional spirit that Ban Yu tries to rebuild in his novels.
