As an Art Master’s degree student specializing in ethnic music creation and heritage,it is essential to possess not only professional musical composition skills but also a profound understanding of ethnic music culture and the cultural context behind it.This understanding allows for targeted exploration,research,analysis,and organization of ethnic music,which can then be transformed into concrete musical research results through one’s own musical composition abilities.This article focuses on the Dong Ethnic Grand Song in the Rongjiang River Basin of Sanjiang County,analyzing its musical features and exploring its use in music creation and heritage from the perspective of ethnic music.The article is divided into four parts: The introduction presents the topic’s background,research status,research methods,and an overview of the Dong Ethnic Grand Song in the Rongjiang River Basin.Chapter One analyzes the musical elements of the Dong Ethnic Grand Song,such as mode characteristics,melodic structure,formal structure,polyphonic texture,and harmonic intervals.Chapter Two introduces three compositions created by the author using the Dong Ethnic Grand Song as inspiration,including "Musings-Dong Ethnic Grand Song," "First Visit to the Dong Village," and "Thoughtful Tree," and provides analysis of the composition background,thought process,and techniques employed.Chapter Three summarizes the author’s reflections and experiences during the process of fieldwork and music creation and explores how to create new works with vitality by basing them on ethnic music.The purpose of this article is to demonstrate practical results of ethnic music creation and heritage through the author’s personal degree music concert work,provide a reference for relevant fields’ research,and contribute to the application of ethnic music research and creation.
