The research of this topic mainly focuses on the "opera seria" period of Europe’s prosperity.During this period, many famous opera masters appeared, among which Gluck was the most important one.Metastasio was a Script writer who could not be bypassed when studying Gluck, and he had an important position in European history. His script was used by almost all European composers at that time.In Gluck’s opera creation, there are a large number of works with scripts written by him,and the subject of the title "Le Cinesi" is one of them. The "China fever" in Europe in the 18 th century led many works to be labeled as "China"."Le Cinesi" not only has the topic of "China",but also is the work of combining Gluck and Metastasio. Therefore, its research value cannot be denied. In addition, the genre of "Le Cinesi" and "Opernserenade" is special,so the genre issue is also one of the focuses of this paper. This article starts from the historical and cultural background of Europe in the18 th century, and discusses the reasons for the emergence of "China" topic works in Europe.Subsequently, the author introduced the life and creative process of Metastasio, and continued the above, talked about the impact of "China fever" on Metastasio’s creation. In terms of the general situation of Gluck’s creation, the author first lists the different musical versions of the opera "Le Cinesi".It is known that 14 composers have created operas based on the script of Metastasio, and the version created by Gluck in 1754 is the subject of this topic. The article combs the background of the creation of Gluck’s version, and roughly introduces the actors who premiered in 1754.In the part of drama and music, genre is involved first. The genre of "Opernserenade" is very rare in the history of opera, which also reflects the diversity and complexity of music genres in the 18 th century. The author explores the characteristics of this genre in the article. Then, the author analyzes the dramatic structure and role of the play. The first is the statement of the structure of "play in play",and the second is the analysis of the four characters in the play.Through the arrangement of the plot and the dialogue between the characters,we can find the Chinese elements in the drama, and explore the creative techniques of the playwright. In the music analysis part, the author makes a traditional music analysis of the prelude, four arias and a quartet in the opera one by one,and discusses some prominent parts of the recital. In terms of the historical value of "Le Cinesi",it is divided into five sections, which are respectively discussed from five aspects: the reform of Gluck’s opera, the one-sided Chinese characteristics presented in the opera, the political utility of the opera, the continuous promotion and precipitation of "Chinese style",and the review and research on the opera. The drama,in terms of genre, theme and reflection on the orthodox opera, has paved the way for Gluck’s later opera reform, which is of great significance to Gluck’s overall creative process. The reason why "one-sided Chinese characteristics" is "one-sided" is reflected in the fact that as an opera, its music has no Chinese elements, and its Chinese characteristics are reflected in other aspects such as performance scenes, plot, character ideas, and even human names. The author analyzes and discusses the Chinese elements presented in the play. The second is about politics. The ideal characteristics of the Chinese "the other" helped to consolidate and update the imperial sovereignty during the crisis of the Holy Roman Empire. Therefore, the author has expanded on political topics. The Chinese style is a European style. The author demonstrates the phenomenon that Europe continues to promote "China fever" after the play.It can be concluded that from the end of the 17 th century to the whole 18 th century,Europe is very advocating Chinese style. Finally, there is a critical study. In some foreign literature,we found the evaluation of the play. The author translated and integrated it.We can see that from different angles and different commentators have positive and negative evaluations of the play.In a word, the author tries to find the Chinese elements in the script or music of the opera, analyze the artistic value and historical status of the opera, and discuss its status in Gluck’s creative career.
