In the Ming and Qing dynasties,there emerged a large number of beautiful women paintings with female reading as the theme.The images of reading women in the paintings reflected the change of people’s aesthetic concept at that time.People’s aesthetic appreciation of women gradually shifted from the worship of moral appearance to the pursuit of talent and bookness.The pictures of women reading books in Ming and Qing Dynasties are not only a simple representation of female images,but also contain complex space construction,which reflects a kind of unequal "viewing" relationship between men and women.As a reflection of the society,culture and politics of this period,there are profound cultural connotations behind the images.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter focuses on the social background of female reading charts of Ming and Qing Dynasties,and analyzes the causes of the emergence of female reading charts of Ming and Qing Dynasties and their cultural and historical context from four aspects: the maturity of publishing culture,the praise of literati,the popularization of female cultural education,and the initiative of reading subjects.The second chapter divides the reading pictures of women in the Ming and Qing dynasties into three schemata according to the female reading images of different identity types in the paintings,namely,the beauty reading schema,the partner reading schema and the good mother teaching child schema.The third chapter analyzes the unique forms of artistic expression of female reading pictures in Ming and Qing dynasties,mainly from three aspects of composition,ink and poem inscription,and discusses the picture characteristics,aesthetic style and male literati psychology of female reading pictures in Ming and Qing dynasties.The fourth chapter extends from the composition of images to the relationship between objects,images and environment,analyzes the private space,image elements and the features and connotations of the images carried by female reading pictures in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and discusses the relationship between "seeing" and "being seen" in the private space of reading hidden in paintings from different gender perspectives.The fifth chapter focuses on the metaphor and cultural connotation behind the reading pictures of women in the Ming and Qing Dynasties from four aspects: the residence of literati emotion,the ideal female image under the male aesthetic observation,the self-examination and the gaze of the other,and the revelation of female self-consciousness,and deeply discusses the social cultural form and personality psychology reflected by the reading pictures of women in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. |
