A Study On The Changes In Filial Piety Expectations And Children's Support Behaviors Among Rural Elderly Peopl

Filial piety culture contains a rich national spirit and is an important part of traditional Chinese culture.As the "root" of Chinese culture,the countryside is an important "carrier" of traditional culture,and is also the main field where traditional filial culture takes place.However,China has entered an aging society,and the aging problem is more serious in rural areas,and the elderly in rural areas has become an important issue that needs to be solved.This study used interview method,comparative analysis method,and literature research method to investigate grandparents,fathers,and children in rural families in S city,Henan Province.This paper analyzes the performance characteristics and relationships between filial expectations of the elderly and children’s support behaviors in before the reform and opening up,after the reform and opening up — before the rise of the Internet era and the Internet Age rural areas against the background of social changes and the turning point of reform and opening up in 1978.Through a comparative study of people’s filial expectations and support behaviors in these three eras,we explore the changing characteristics of the relationship between rural elderly people’s filial expectations and children’s support behaviors in the context of social change.The study found that major social transformations have profoundly affected the filial expectations of older adults and children’s support behaviors in rural areas.Reform and opening up and the rapid development of the contemporary Internet have changed their inherent patterns to varying degrees.Comparing before the reform and opening up—— one-way unbalanced relationship,after the reform and opening up — before the rise of the Internet era —— skewed and unbalanced relationship.With the increase of economic income,the improvement of pension policy,the development of electronic information,in the present age,the expectation of filial piety is reduced in the economic aspect,diversified in the expectation of life care,and transferred in the expectation of spiritual comfort.In terms of child support behavior,financial support is more convenient and diverse,life care support is diversified,and spiritual comfort support is legalized,intelligent,and bi-directional.These manifestations have led to a balanced and rationalized relationship between rural elderly people’s filial expectations and their children’s support behaviors.With the high-quality development of society,the function of family retirement has weakened,requiring the joint efforts of the whole society to maintain a good intergenerational balance,which is conducive to the long-term stability of society and the happiness and prosperity of the people.
