| The rapid advancement of 5G communication technology has resulted in a global technological update.China has kept its leadership in 5G research and development by establishing a complete dialogue mechanism between domestic and international upstream and downstream enterprises.The 2022 World 5G Convention is used as the study corpus for this practice of Chinese-English consecutive interpretation.After analyzing the practice recordings and transcriptions,the author concludes the problems found in practice are primarily due to three factors: logical confusion in interpretation,redundancy in interpretation,and improper pauses in interpretation.The report elaborates and analyzes the problems encountered in practice,and corresponding solutions are proposed: Making the subject explicit,adding connectives,and adjusting the word order are strategies for logical confusion in interpretation;combination and omission are strategies for redundancy in interpretation;and form filling and interpretive translation are strategies for improper pauses in interpretation.The author gained valuable expertise and discovered flaws as a result of this simulated practice.Hopefully,this report will be useful for future research on comparable topics. |
