Since the 20 th century, the capitalist society has gradually turned into a consumption-oriented society.Dissimilation consumption has changed the operation mechanism of economy, politics, culture and so on in daily life quietly. Therefore, how to make the public get rid of the pain of alienated life and realize the return to the real world has become a hot topic in modern philosophy. Most researchers would regard the public as a silencer under the tight control of capitalism.Seth, however, offers a new theoretical perspective: that while the masses are subject to a web of disciplinary regimes, they are also actively resisting and fighting back.In this sense,Seth regarded the masses as “Unsung Heroes”in daily life, and his theoretical emphasis naturally shifted to the rebellious practice of the masses, which was neglected by the academic world. In this paper, the practical track of the other in daily life, which is not mentioned before,is taken as the cut-in point of study.Seto makes a series of research on the other, how the other makes changes to the discipline system by means of tactics, but can avoid the explosive revolutionary struggle. The other is how to build a piece of personal life space for himself under the strict discipline system. How the other is erased by the power in the flood of history, and how to realize the return of oneself through the practice of daily life. This series of studies overturns the long-term negative image of the other, and highlights the significance of the existence of the other and the heterogeneous culture behind it.Seth’s theory brings new ideas and perspectives to the study of daily life, and his analysis of daily life is of great academic value and theoretical significance to the understanding of many important issues in contemporary capitalist society. |
