Research On The Application Of Wangyifu’s Eight Yangqin Techniques

Wang Yifu is a important and representative person of dulcimer performance,who spent his life summarizing various playing techniques of the dulcimer,and devoted himself to studying the timbre of the dulcimer.He made the techniques prosperous and innovative,and named them "eight dulcimer techniques",namely,eight parts of "playing","wheeling","shaking","sliding","pointing","plucking","kneading" and "hooking".The author takes Mr.Wang Yifu’s "eight dulcimer techniques" as the research object,and makes a detailed division based on Mr.Wang Yifu’s contributions to the eight techniques,elaborating the formation,category and playing methods of Wang Yifu’s eight dulcimer techniques.Then the author analyzes the application of eight techniques in traditional works with the specific example from the perspective of creators.In additional,the author will do the exploration and explanation in both inheritance and innovation of eight techniques from the modern development of dulcimer.Finally,the author discusses and summarizes the inheritance of Wang Yifu’s spirit and contributions.There are three chapters in this paper in totoal:The first chapter is the summary of "eight Yangqin techniques".It first classifies the eight Yangqin techniques summarized by Wang Yifu into three categories: conventional techniques,special techniques and innovative techniques.As the three sections in the first chapter,it elucidates on the formation of the eight techniques and Mr.Wang Yifu’s concept of individuality,providing reference for the skill teaching and performance of Yangqin works.The second chapter is about Wang Yifu’s individualized practice and application of the "eight Yangqin techniques".The writter,in the perspective of creator,demonstrate the analysis of the pratical application of the eight Yangqin techniques in traditional works on the basis of the three categories of the eight techniques in the first chapter,and makes examples and comparative study of the performance methods and artistic treatment,so as to provide reference for the subsequent creation of Yangqin works in the application of techniques and the control of style.The third chapter disscussed the Wangyifu’s eight Yangqin Techniques in inheritance and innovation respectively.In terms of inheritance,the author disscussed and summrized Eight Yangqin Techniques from developing new concept by weeding through the old on the education of Yangqin.In innovation side,the author debates it through the practical implement of Wangyifu‘s Eight Yangqin Techniques in musical composition of Yangqin and the new performance of Wangyifu‘s classic musical composition in China.
