During the epidemic period, due to the need for prevention and control, online Chinese language teaching has become the mainstream mode of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Today, with the adjustment of prevention and control policies, online Chinese language teaching is still a necessary supplement to offline classes.Online Chinese class is different from online subject education in that it has problems with cross-cultural communication, and is also different from offline Chinese language teaching in that it is easily affected by teaching platforms, network status, and the disadvantages of limited interaction.Due to the above,Chinese learners are trapped in a "lonely island" of learning alone, facing teachers and classmates on the other end of the electronic screen, silently bearing the pressure of learning Chinese, and easily falling into negative emotions of loneliness and anxiety, which greatly reduces the effectiveness of online learning.According to existing research at home and abroad in the education field, teachers’ caring behaviors play an important role in alleviating student pressure. Is this also the case in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language?Based on this, this article explores the following three issues through a survey of Japanese students in the Xiangban class of Beijing Foreign Studies University:First, what are the current conditions and characteristics of teachers’ caring behavior in online TCSOL classes?Secondly, what are the factors that influence the current basic situation of caring behavior among teachers in online TCSOL classes?Thirdly, what are the measures to effectively improve the level of caring behavior of teachers in online TCSOL classes?Focusing on the above three research questions, this article mainly adopts the methods of questionnaire survey, statistical analysis, personal interviews, and classroom observation to carry out the research. The implementation steps and conclusions are as follows:1、After collecting data from students in the Xiangban class through a questionnaire survey, the author conducted a statistical analysis using SPSS and found that the caring behavior of teachers in online TCSOL classes presents a developmental characteristic of"high overall level, uneven dimensional distribution, and significant individual differences".2、Through classroom observation and personal interviews, this article believes that online teaching environment, personal characteristics of teachers, and individual differences among students are the main factors that affect teachers’ caring behavior in online TCSOL classes.3、This article believes that measures to improve the level of caring behavior of teachers in online TCSOL classes include improving the online Chinese language teaching environment, improving the caring literacy of Chinese language teachers, and paying attention to the individual differences in student development.
