| Celeste Ng is a contemporary American emerging Chinese-American writer.Her two novels,Everything I Never told you and Little Fires Everywhere,once published,caused great repercussions in the American literary world,and leaped to the top of Amazon’s annual book list that year.The creation of Celeste Ng,to a certain extent,represents the new face of contemporary Chinese American literature creation.Celeste Ng’s poems have a distinct "marginal" tendency.In her works,she portrays a group of marginalized people who are separated from society and family,writes about their difficult living conditions,points out a way forward for the marginalized groups to stick to themselves.The marginal writing of Celeste Ng’s poetry is a useful supplement to the current Chinese American literature.Marginal writing is reflected in all aspects of works,while existing literary research focuses on the theme and content of Celeste Ng’s poetry,lacking attention to narrative strategies,and to some extent,ignoring the uniqueness of narrative in Celeste Ng’s poetry.Guided by the theory of narratology,this paper systematically analyzes the various manifestations of marginal writing in Celeste Ng’s poetry works,and then analyzes the unique significance and value behind the marginal writing of writers,to supplement and enrich the study of Chinese American literature.This article is divided into five parts.The introduction part traces the background information and creative achievements of Celeste Ng’s poems,displays the unique edge writing features in his works,clarifies key concepts such as "margin",and analyzes existing research achievements at home and abroad,clarifying the significance and innovation of this study.The first chapter discusses the spatial narration of Celeste Ng’s marginal writing.Space is a link between people,a representation of personal discourse,and a battleground for power relations.Urban communities have become a space for the movement of power,a field for visual discipline and silent violence against outsiders.Room is an intuitive reflection of an individual’s personality,the most direct place to understand the image of characters,and displays the delicate survival state of marginalized groups.The second chapter discusses the temporal narrative of Celeste Ng’s marginal writing.The narrative sequence adopts a combination of flashback and sequential narration,and the complete story puzzle gradually emerges in the inverted sequence of time.The narrative frequency adopts a strategy of repeated emphasis,which enhances the narrative intensity through repetition and highlights the awareness of marginal writing.The third chapter discusses the image narration of Celeste Ng’s marginal writing.There are rich and colorful images in Celeste Ng’s poetry,and natural images are the most intuitive and frequent images.The silent lake and the flames of hope become the main clues running through the novel.Social images are more closely related to family and society.The paper presents the rich social images in the novel,such as gifts,diaries,cookbooks,etc.,and analyzes the alienation and loneliness of the author’s words through objects.The conclusion part reviews the marginal writing in novel narration,the trinity of spatial narration,temporal narration,and image narration,and carefully depicts the marginal writing consciousness of Celeste Ng’s poetry works.The author’s marginal writing position stems from his own life experience and pursues a suprapolitical and non mainstream human concern.In fact,it has transcended ethnic restrictions and raised writing to a more universal value level. |
