| Black and white woodcut is a traditional art form, and woodcut prints of landscape subjects first appeared as backgrounds for book illustrations. The development of the times has driven the innovation of creative language, and the inclusiveness and diversity of the new era market has led artists to pursue the pure art and emotional expression.Among them, the art form of Picasso, the representative of cubist geometric painting, opened up new ideas for the creation of black and white landscape woodcuts, and the use of geometric form language became more diversified. The main content of this essay is to analyze the geometric language embodied in the works of contemporary printmakers, and then to summarize the spiritual thoughts on the painting after the creation practice through the author’s own specific practice of geometric form language. The purpose of this paper is to further explore the geometric language in black-and-white landscape woodcuts by reading relevant theoretical materials and considering the research in conjunction with my own creative practice, and to explore the appropriate language and direction for my own painting. |
