| As the opposite of politeness studies,research on impoliteness has become an academically hot issue in the field of pragmatics.In recent years,with the in-depth observation of the phenomenon of impoliteness by scholars at home and abroad,and the rapid development of Internet technology,online impoliteness has received extensive attention from relevant academic circles.However,compared with previous rationale on impoliteness,research results on online impoliteness are still relatively lacking.Compared with other online comments,Q&A(question and answer)community embraces the characteristics of entertainment,sociability,in-depth discussion,etc.The impolite utterances produced by Q&A community are of great significance for revealing their pragmatic strategies and features,and their investigation will also lay an important foundation for building a more harmonious online community.The thesis will apply Jonathan Culpeper’s impoliteness theory and the model of participant’s response options proposed by Dobs and Blitvich to analyze the implicational impoliteness in the online Q&A platform Zhihu’s answers and comments as the target,aiming to answer these questions:(1)The strategies adopted for implicational impoliteness in the online Q&A platform Zhihu’s comments.(2)The characteristics of the implicational impoliteness in the online Q&A platform.(3)The pragmatic functions of these implicational impolite discourse.This thesis has found that in online Q&A communities,(1)form-driven implicational impoliteness often adopts strategies of innuendo and imitation;convention-driven implicational impoliteness adopts strategies of satire and ridicule;context-driven impoliteness adopts the selective neglect strategy.(2)The implicational impolite discourse concludes the characteristics of weak antagonism,deliberate intention,insinuation,entertainment,and the "harmony" culture.(3)The implicational impoliteness has the function of expressing negative emotions,teasing and seeking group identification.This thesis enriches the application of Culpeper’s impoliteness theory in online reviews,expanding the target and scope of impoliteness research,thus providing a practical basis for future researchers,and a reference for building a more green and harmonious online environment. |
