Chinese ancient cultural relics contains rich cultural, artistic and scientific values. However, the unearthed cultural relics are usually damaged to varying degrees due to long-term natural or human factors, which seriously affects the research and appreciation value of cultural relics. In this regard, the restoration of cultural objects is of great importance. The effect of traditional cultural relic restoration methods is heavily dependent on the experience and attitude of the restorers, with huge workload、low restoration efficiency and prone to secondary damage. With the advent of the information age,the restoration of ancient artefacts has been transformed from the traditional "manual" method to an alldigital method of "artificial intelligence+modern instruments+virtual reality",and it has the potential to be efficient, accurate, flexible, and non-destructive.Against such a backdrop, based on the Han Dynasty wooden painted lacquer box unearthed in the tomb of Zhang Anshi’s family in Fengqiyuan,Xi’an,in July 2008,as the research object, this thesis utilizes computer 3D modeling technology, computer vision technology, and image restoration technology based on generative confrontation networks to realize the digital restoration and digital display of the Han Dynasty wooden colored lacquer box.The major work contents of this thesis include:I.Research on the digital reconstruction of the painted lacquer box structureIn order to construct a model of the outline of a fully collapsed and deformed wooden painted lacquer box from the Han dynasty, this thesis presents a preliminary outline and structure of the wooden painted lacquer box through the comprehensive collection of one-dimensional,2D and 3D data of the lacquer box and the analysis of information processing, combined with relevant historical materials and expert experience. In this thesis, the computer 3D modelling software 3Dmax is used to construct its primary model and to calibrate the dimensions of the 3D acquisition data with the real dimensions of the lacquer box part of the unit. The real dimensions of the lacquer box are calculated by means of a 3D spatial curve distance formula, and finally the accurate 3D spatial dimensions are used to accuratise the primary model of the lacquer box, resulting in an accurate digital structural model of the Han dynasty painted wooden lacquer box.II.Research on the restoration algorithm of lacquer box surface ornament patterns of painted lacquer boxThe key technology for the digital restoration of lacquer box ornament patterns lies in reliable image restoration algorithms. The restoration process is divided into lacquer box image pre-processing,image selection of the area to be restored, and image restoration.Firstly, the unit segmentation is performed according to the arrangement pattern of the lacquer box pattern, and the preprocessing operations such as noise removal, enhancement and correction are performed on the segmented unit image to improve the image quality. Then, the image mask is used to mask the area to be restored after the pre-processing.Finally,the image restoration algorithm is used to restore the unit image to be repaired.By comparing various image restoration algorithms, the restoration method of generative adversarial network is finally determined as the core, and the image restoration effect is improved by adding a gated convolutional layer. The experiments show that the generative adversarial network restoration algorithm with gated convolution can obtain restoration results with more details.Ⅲ.Research on the digital restoration process of damaged painted lacquer boxOn the basis of the work in(1)and(2),the constructed 3D lacquer box structural box model is combined with the finished restored ornament pattern. The process first use the structural rules of the lacquer box to splice the decorative patterns of the repaired lacquer box units to form a complete lacquer box surface decoration. Then, through ZBrush software, the complete lacquer box decorative pattern is mapped onto a 3D digital lacquer box model, ultimately achieving the digital restoration of the Han Dynasty wooden colored lacquer box.Ⅳ.The building of a digital display platform for a painted lacquer boxWith reference to the purpose and needs of the digital display of ancient cultural relics, the design of a software system for the digital display of ancient cultural relics is completed using the C++ language on the Qt software development platform, combined with tools and technologies such as Qt Disigner interface development and the OpenCV4 machine vision library. This work includes the construction of the functional interface of the digital display platform, the transplantation of image preprocessing algorithms, and the simple invocation of databases. Finally, the software platform with digital image and video information display function of ancient cultural relics is built and completed. On the basis of the above digital restoration work, the 1:1 replica of "Han Dynasty wooden painted lacquer box in the tomb of Zhang Anshi’s family in Fengqiyuan,Xi ’an",is now displayed in the fifth Hall of Shaanxi Provincial Museum of Archaeology, and is displayed as a scientific and technological cultural relic restoration sample. |
