The Influence Of Anxiety Sensitivity On Cyberchondria

This study mainly explores the influence of anxiety sensitivity on cyberchondria,and the role of body vigilance and negative beliefs in it.A total of 753 college students from 4 universities in Heilongjiang Province were selected as subjects in the study and tested using the “Anxiety Sensitivity Index Ⅲ”,“The Cyberchondria Severity Scale-12 in Chinese”,“The Body Vigilance Scale”,“Negative Beliefs about Uncontrollability and Danger of Worry”.The results showed that:(1)Through independent sample t test,we found that there were significant differences in the anxiety sensitivity of college students between genders;Single factor analysis of variance and Welch test found that there was a significant difference in the body concern dimension of anxiety sensitivity between freshmen,junior and senior.(2)Through independent sample t test,it is found that there are significant differences in gender between college students with Cyberchondria;Through one-way ANOVA,it was found that the three dimensions of Cyberchondria and its excessive attention,search anxiety,and seeking help in the freshmen were significantly lower than those in the junior and senior years,and the dimension of negative interference in the junior year was significantly lower than that in the senior year.(3)Through independent sample t test,it is found that there is a significant gender difference in college students’ body vigilance;The results of Welch test showed that the body vigilance of freshmen was significantly lower than that of juniors and seniors.(4)The results of independent sample t-test showed that there were significant gender differences in college students’ negative metacognition;Welch test results show that the negative metacognition of freshmen is significantly lower than that of other grades.(5)The correlation analysis found that there was a significant positive correlation between anxiety sensitivity,Cyberchondria,body vigilance and negative metacognition.(6)Structural equation model shows that anxiety sensitivity has a significant positive predictive effect on Cyberchondria,and body vigilance plays a mediating role between them;Negative metacognition significantly regulates the impact of anxiety sensitivity on Cyberchondria,and high-level negative metacognition has a stronger regulatory effect.
