With the progress of society, the author finds that the city in which he lives is constantly changing, but the buildings on the streets still maintain their original historical atmosphere.Through the test of time, these ancient buildings contain more and more history and culture, which also makes the author have a strong interest and deep thinking about them. The " Harbin Memory" series of oil paintings,in order to explore and debate painting schematic language in tandem with the creative practice of the author’s attachment to Harbin architecture and culture, have been chosen as the subject of painting expression, with urban architecture being the focus. In this paper’s initial section, the author will delve into the purpose and importance of the chosen topic, and then present a selection of research approaches, based on both the domestic and international research environment.Exploring the artistic significance of this series of works, from the origin of creativity to the aesthetic worth of architecture and even the most emblematic paintings, the second part delves deeply. The third part explores in depth how to select and integrate creative materials,as well as the practical process of graphic integration of urban architecture, refinement and use of color language, compression of picture space, and simplification of shape in the series of works. The fourth part is the conclusion, summarizing the research results of this paper and making suggestions for future development.Through an in-depth exploration of the unique beauty of urban architecture,it is possible to better understand the influence of the pictorial language used in the creation on future paintings.
