Narrative Research Of Character Documentary

General Secretary Xi Jinping once pointed out at the symposium on the work of literature and art:the highest level of art is to move people’s hearts,let people’s souls undergo baptism,let people discover the beauty of nature,the beauty of life,the beauty of the soul.Culture is the sustenance on which a nation depends,literature and art is the spiritual lifeblood of a nation,and documentaries,as a means of media propaganda,bear the important mission of promoting the core values of socialism.The formation of Xi Jinping’s thoughts on literature and art has an important guiding significance for the creation of documentaries.With the diversification of creation platforms and production techniques,a large number of character documentaries reflecting the lives of ordinary people and showing social development and changes have come into the public’s view.These character documentaries,created from real life,have profound and rich ideological connotations and have become an important vehicle for promoting the core socialist value system.The whole chapter is divided into four chapters,taking the graduation work "Lao Zhou"and some character documentaries as the case and research object,and based on the relevant theories of Narratology to carry out the research.The first chapter analyzes the narrative perspectives of the graduation work "Lao Zhou" and related character documentaries,and discusses the differences and connections between zero-focus and in-focus perspectives in making representations in documentaries.The second chapter starts with Lefebvre’s space production theory,and analyzes the physical space,social space and spiritual space of the graduation works "Lao Zhou" and related character documentaries,and discusses the presentation and related roles of different spatial forms in the character documentary step by step.The third chapter examines the influence of narrative structure on the construction of the entire documentary discourse system by interpreting the narrative structure of the graduation work "Lao Zhou" and related character documentaries.The fourth chapter analyzes the narrative language of the graduation work "Lao Zhou" and related character documentaries from two aspects:picture language and sound language,and explores how audiovisual language can be used to construct narratives and express emotions in character documentaries.
