Research On Wei Yuan's Literary Though

Wei Yuan is a famous thinker,statesman and litterateur in modern Chinese history.His thought of "statesmanship and application" has had a far-reaching impact on modern China.Wei Yuan appeared in the public view as a politician and thinker,but his literary achievements were often obscured by the brilliance of his political and ideological achievements.Wei Yuan,as the representative of statecraft literature in the late Qing Dynasty,created a large number of poems and essays all his life.The most prominent feature of his literary thought is "statecraft for practical use",attaching importance to the practicality and reality of literature,and forming Wei Yuan’s statecraft literature view.First of all,after combing the historical development of the two kinds of essentialism,this paper discusses the connotation of Wei Yuan’s literary essentialism,and combines the theory with his literary creation practice to show Wei Yuan’s literary essentialism intuitively.Secondly,based on Wei Yuan’s own theoretical viewpoint,this paper analyzes Wei Yuan’s requirements for writers and works from three aspects: "thick","true" and "heavy",and clarifies the content of Wei Yuan’s literary creation theory.Finally,focusing on the relationship between literature and politics,this paper discusses the content of Wei Yuan’s literary function theory.Summarize the characteristics of Wei Yuan’s literary function theory,which is mainly based on political education function and supplemented by aesthetic function,and analyze and point out the advanced nature and limitations of his theoretical thought.On the basis of analyzing Wei Yuan’s theory and combining with his poetry and prose creation,this paper discusses Wei Yuan’s literary thought and theory of statecraft and application from three aspects: literary essence theory,literary creation theory and literary function theory.
