Research On Ceramic Sculpture Of Children In Song Dynasty

As a branch of Chinese ceramic art,Song dynasty children’s ceramic sculpture has unique artistic characteristics and historical value.This paper is divided into four parts to comprehensively analyze the ceramic sculpture of children in Song Dynasty.In the first part,we examine the literature and historical records,and find that most scholars analyze the history and development of ceramic sculpture of children from the perspective of folklore,and only a few scholars analyze it from the perspective of sculpture modeling.Second,the conditions and processes of its development are explored in terms of economic,political,cultural,and social aspects with the artifacts as the axis.Third,the collected ceramic sculptures of children in the Song Dynasty are divided into three major categories,namely,religious,folklore,and daily use,and the social value of the objects at that time is argued by the content of the sculptures.Fourthly,from the perspective of the creative practitioners,we focus on the analysis of their modeling language and explore the artistic characteristics and technical means of Song Dynasty child-themed ceramic sculptures from three aspects: taking shape,creating momentum and conveying spirit,as well as the influence on the creation of modern ceramic sculptures.Finally,based on the previous analysis of the modeling content of Song Dynasty children’s ceramic sculptures,we summarize their aesthetic connotation and strive to incorporate the aesthetic genes of Song Dynasty children’s ceramic sculptures in our personal creation.This paper composes,summarizes,researches and extends the content of ceramic sculptures of children in the Song Dynasty,aiming to draw the unique language and artistic aesthetic spirit of the development of Chinese ceramic sculpture from the ancient tradition,and to demonstrate the necessity and importance of contemporary ceramic sculpture creation to inherit the design and artistic aesthetics of ancient ceramic sculpture.
