"Time" Is Involved In The Study Of Chinese Contemporary Sculpture Creation

For the discussion of time,sculpture art has an advantage that other art disciplines cannot match,which is to liberate the understanding of time from various concepts and definitions,and endow it with visual and concrete forms.Traditional sculpture implies the existence of time through the actions of "moments of motion" and "fragments of motion".However,in the contemporary context of sculpture art,its creative methods and presentation methods are becoming increasingly diverse.Unlike the time depicted in static sculpture,contemporary Chinese sculpture upholds a broader internal sense of time,which translates the perception of time into the language of individual creation.This type of sculptor often indulges their works in the flow of time,or uses things with temporal meanings as medium materials for expression.This creative approach presents a novel and unique aesthetic feeling in both form and space.Sculpture is no longer a one-way relationship between "seeing" and "watching",but rather points to the interpretation of events and spatiotemporal experiences in the work,Thus inspiring the creative context of contemporary Chinese sculpture that starts from the heart.The starting point and foothold of this article is to interpret and analyze the frequent phenomenon of "time" intervention in sculpture creation under the Chinese contemporary art spectrum since the 1990 s.Starting from Chapter 2,this article mainly introduces the background of the involvement of time in contemporary Chinese sculpture,elaborates on the development and evolution of time consciousness in sculpture creation in various Western periods from a macro perspective,as well as a brief history of contemporary Chinese sculpture,laying a solid foundation for the following discussion.The third and fourth chapters mainly study the specific intervention methods and characteristics of "time" in contemporary Chinese sculpture,and combine image examples and relevant artistic philosophy theories to analyze the author’s transformation and application strategies in detail.They summarize that the author completes the work through two methods: spatial time changes and psychological time perception.On the basis of the previous text,Chapter 5 interprets the internal driving force and external incentives of this creative trend of time intervention,revealing the profound significance hidden in works of this kind of "time" phenomenon.The sixth chapter explores the positive impact of time intervention on contemporary sculpture creation and aesthetic activities.
