Application Of Flower’s Composition In Ceramic Decoration

Flowers are the eternal theme in art creation,and they also play a vital role in the designing.The natural and cultural attributes owned by the flowers itself make their artistic expression reflect the trend of diversification as well,while the systematic “composition”language was born in modern times,and it is the product of the great revolution in modern art concepts.The combination of these two expression forms reaches the consistency of decoration and mood,which is in accordance with aesthetic standard of modern people.Today,with the art diversified,modern ceramics absorbs the creation experience from many different fields.The development of these new ideas and new materials broadens the ways of ceramic creation and enriches the themes of ceramic creation.This paper will explore the application of flowers ’ composition in ceramic decoration and creation,and attempt to search for the balance point between flower’s composition and ceramic design.The whole paper is mainly divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the justifications why this topic is identified,the current research status at home and abroad and the definition of related concepts.Also,the main research methods are briefly explained in this chapter.The second chapter,from two perspectives,namely the basic modeling elements and the formal beauty principles of the flowers’ composition,explains the design methods the flowers’ composition.The third chapter,through analyzing the specific cases,elaborates the application methods of flowers’ composition in ceramic decoration in terms of body decoration,glaze decoration and painting decoration.The fourth chapter is my graduation creation practice.By recording the whole process of creation practice,my understanding of theoretical knowledge is further deepened,which finally transforms the theoretical knowledge into my guidance and motivation for future creation.The investigation into how flowers compose ceramic works in this topic will broaden the creation ideas for ceramic works,and the combination of composition thoughts and flower elements will produce the works which are in line with modern aesthetic standard.
