| Contemporary Russian writer Guzel Yakhina’s feature-length debut "Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes" is a documentary about the expropriation of rich peasants’ land and forced immigration during the collectivization period of the former Soviet Union novel,which places the rough fate of an ordinary Tatar woman in the torrent of times and history.With the theme of "awakening",it describes the process of spiritual transformation of ordinary people in a special period,and eulogizes the love and warmth in suffering.Mirror-stage theory,as a basic part of Lacan’s theory,is one of the important theories in the study of self-identity in literary criticism.In literary studies,Jacques Lacan’sconcepts of the Imaginary and self-formation are often used to illustrate the construction of identity and subjectivity in texts,as well as the various relationships between characters.This article attempts to use Lacan’s Mirror-stage Theory to analyze Zuleikha’s self-awareness awakening in the novel "Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes",and analyzes his different mental journeys at different stages of life.In this paper,the three stages of mirroring in Lacan’s Mirror-stage Theory—“pre-mirror stage ”,“mirror stage”,“post-mirror stage”,and the “three orders” system—“the Imaginary”,“the Symbolic” and “the Real”,"ego" and "other","aggressivity" and other concepts and terms are briefly introduced,explain the establishment and formation of self-consciousness in Lacan’s philosophy and the influence mechanism of "other" factors on it,and interpret intrinsic connection of "aggressivity" to narcissistic identity.Then,based on Lacan’s Mirror-stage Theory,it analyzes the background and reasons for the formation of Zuleikha’s original self-consciousness in the pre-mirror stage,and interprets Zuleikha’s reconstruction of the subject consciousness step by step on the way of migration,getting rid of the past,and realizing the transformation from the Imaginary to the Symbolic.Under the influence of "others",she has grown into a real individual with social and cultural significance.In the end,this article summarizes the reason why Zuleikha was able to achieve self-awareness,from a "poor worm" in the former mirror stage to a well-respected and excellent hunter in the post-mirror stage and gained love. |
