| William Gibson is an important representative writer of cyberpunk ’ s novels.His works ’ Sprawl Trilogy ’ ’ Neuromancer ’(1984)’ Count Zero ’(1986)’ Mona Lisa Overdrive ’(1988)depicts the realistic problems of human survival and social contradictions in the virtual world.It shows the control and influence of society on human beings in the era of science and technology,informatization and digitalization.Since the 20 th century,with the rapid development of information biology and other technologies,the situation in William Gibson ’ s works has gradually moved towards reality.It can be said that today ’ s society is highly virtualized and technological.In the face of the increasingly rapid development trend,combined with literary texts,it is more necessary to interpret the changes of social reality from the perspective of science fiction.Based on the macro perspective,this paper takes William Gibson ’ s " Trilogy " as the main example,starting from the context of contemporary technology,media,post-humanism and so on,on the basis of close reading of the text,the connotation and realistic orientation of science fiction landscape in William Gibson ’ s works are discussed step by step,in order to better face the reality anxiety and future development caused by the change of science and technology in the process of changing times,and find more possibilities for the advancement of science fiction literature imagination and its narrative space.This paper is divided into six chapters :Firstly,the introduction briefly introduces the content of the work and the significance of this study,and summarizes the research status of William Gibson ’ s main works at home and abroad.The first chapter,the construction of real and virtual landscape.The relationship between reality and virtuality in William Gibson ’ s works is the starting point of this thesis.Taking this as a starting point,it is pointed out that the underlying logic of the good operation of cyberspace based on the development of information technology is the gradual deconstruction of data and symbols to reality,so as to create a more realistic sense of reality than reality,and ultimately make the virtual and real completely misplaced,and the virtual reality technology is the key link affecting people ’ s living experience.The second chapter,space and time landscape.Firstly,based on the analysis in the second part of this paper,it is pointed out that the transformation and dislocation between reality and virtuality are actually based on the new construction of space and time forms.Secondly,with William Gibson ’ s description of the existence experience of characters as the breakthrough point,and then in-depth analysis of the way the cyberspace expands and extends the time and space of human society.Finally,on this basis,it is pointed out that the media plays an important role in time division and space shaping.The third chapter,body and data landscape.First of all,the analysis of the previous two parts as a starting point,pointing out that the real and virtual barrier is the human body,space and time coordinate system is the human consciousness,which leads to the ’people ’ as the center of the landscape kernel.Secondly,taking the cyborg in William Gibbsson ’ s works as an example,this paper explains the process from human to non-human,that is,the result of information technology embedding human from outside to inside.Finally,focusing on the construction of human identity,it points out the feasible significance of mobility and the development of multiple personalities for enhancing human survival.The fourth chapter,the reality and future landscape.Based on the discussion of the first three parts,this paper takes the specific plot in William Gibson ’ s works as the breakthrough point,and points out that the final face of the three landscape contents of virtual and reality,space and time,body and data in reality is the two dimensions of human survival and social development.Finally,it points out that in the cyberspace era,human beings should face cruelty and regain the valuable resource of self-consciousness.The final conclusion summarizes the whole thesis.Through the analysis and summary of the four landscape connotations of reality and virtuality,space and time,body and data,reality and future,it is possible to clarify the progressive longitudinal relationship between the four landscape orientations in William Gibson ’ s trilogy,which proves the profound connotation of the realistic landscape in his works,and encourages us to explore and face the problems related to human survival,so as to find the real significance and value of human existence. |
