| The modern school museum was first founded by missionaries who came to China and developed with the proposal of people of insight at that time and the support of the policies of the Qing government.As a supplement to modern education,school museums played a significant role in school education and social education.It not only promoted the development of modern education,but also contributed to the development of museums in modern China.In recent years,although the museum industry in China has been booming,school museums have not been able to recover.Therefore,exploring the development of modern school museums has reference significance for thinking about how to establish school museums and make them better serve education.Based on the extensive collection of relevant historical materials of modern school museums,combined with the annual growth of school museums from 1876 to 1949,this study divides them into three stages: development,prosperity and decline.The study adopts two research methods: literature analysis method and quantitative history method.Firstly,combined with the development of modern museums and education museums,this paper combs out the background of school museums,and focuses on the first school Museum.Secondly,it combs the development of school museums in the three stages,summarizes the distribution characteristics of each stage,explores the factors affecting its development,and obtains the educational significance of school museums in different stages.Finally,it summarizes and analyzes the overall development and influencing factors of modern school museums.Combined with the development dilemma of school museums after the founding of the People’s Republic of China,this study draws inspiration for the establishment of school museums at present.Through research,it is found that the overall development trend of modern school museums is slow first and then fast.In terms of spatial distribution,it experienced a process from being concentrated in some coastal provinces in North China and East China,expanding to the south and central parts,and then moving the center of gravity northward.In terms of the distribution of school nature,the church school museums were the main ones at first,and the public school museums were the dominant ones at the prosperous stage,and then the two were equally divided.In the school level distribution,university museums always occupied the main position.In terms of the distribution of collection types,with the development of school museums,the collection of collections gradually enriched from single,and three main types of school museums were formed: teaching,science and comprehensive.Through the analysis,it is concluded that the development of modern school museums is affected by education and teaching,educators and social environment.Combined with the current dilemma of insufficient attention and lack of funds faced by school museums,this study concludes that the construction of school museums needs to pay attention to improving the fund guarantee mechanism,implementing decentralized education and renewing ideas,and strengthening the connection with local governments. |
