Research On Fang Peilin's Musical Film Creatio

In the heat wave of "reconstruction of film history",the historical research of Chinese film history is gradually being improved,and many researchers turn their eyes to the filmmakers and video materials which have been neglected in the past.In recent years,some breakthroughs have been made in the studies of the "attached and Inverted filmmakers",but they tend to focus on Zhu Shilin,Ma Xu Weibang and others,while Fang Peilin,who was also accused as the "attached and inverted filmmakers" after the war,is rarely discussed.As the authoritative director of musical films in the period of "Zhonglian",Fang Peilin was unique in the early Chinese film circle,but many musical films he directed were often ignored by later generations for their commercial and entertainment.This paper tries to give a more objective positioning and evaluation of Fang Peilin’s musical films by re-sorting and in-depth systematic research.This paper consists of four parts.The first part discusses the relationship between Fang Peilin and early Chinese musical films,including Fang Peilin’s experience from set engineer to director,the development of early Chinese musical films in the early stage of China,and the reason why Fang Peilin turned from a director of "soft films" to shoot musical films.The second part takes Hollywood musical film and Chinese musical film as the background,carries on the thorough analysis to the form style of Fang Peilin’s musical film.This paper expounds the uniqueness of Fang Peilin’s musical films from four aspects : lens language,narrative mode,song,dance style and performance form,costume and set style,summarizes the form style of the combination of Chinese and Western musical films,and tries to position the creation of his musical films.In the third part,the author discusses the real mentality behind his musical films through his personal experience and times.Extracting the four creative moods of self-preservation,resistance,regression and misery,the author tries to evaluate his own and musical works.The fourth part summarizes the value,contribution and influence of Fang Peilin’s musical films.On the basis of summarizing the artistic style of Fang Peilin’s musical films,this paper discusses the unique value and the brand of The Times of his musical films,expounds his promotion to the development of Chinese musical films in the early stage and his enlightenment to the generation of Hong Kong fashion musical films after the war,and points out his far-reaching influence on the film and other industries in his creative practice.It is hoped that through the study and discussion of Fang Peilin’s musical films,readers can feel the unique charm of his musical films,realize the unique status and profound influence of Fang Peilin in the early history of Chinese film,and try to fill in the deficiency of his research in the current history of Chinese film.
