The research results of continuation task in China are relatively mature,but there are still some shortcomings: from the perspective of research objects,the application of continuation task mostly focuses on college entrance examination students,and lacks the awareness of cultivating college entrance examination students’ reading ability;From the perspective of research methods,the current research on the theory of continuation task is much higher than the empirical research.Especially for the stage of high school education,the empirical research is very limited.Therefore,this study takes the senior three students of a high school in Lianyungang,Jiangsu Province as the research object,and on the basis of continuing to in-put theory and out-put theory,and productive method after reading,intends to carry out the research through experiments,questionnaires and interviews.Through empirical research,this paper demonstrates the effect of genre-based teaching method in actual class.Through the survey,it is found that there are the following problems in senior three students’ English writing in Haitou senior high school in Lianyungang: Students’ poor writing habits;students’ poor awareness of writing;Students lack interest in English writing;Students lack self-confidence in English writing.Based on the current situation,the author uses the way of continuation task to guide Senior three students’ writing.After the experiment,it is found that continuation task can significantly improve senior high school students’ English writing performance;It can significantly improve senior high school students’ interest in English writing;It can significantly improve students’ writing confidence.In order to make the continuation task play a greater role in English core literacy,we can further optimize as follows: pay attention to the diversity of material selection in the implementation;The use of continuation task should pay attention to the mastery of basic language knowledge;The use of continuation task can guide students to plan the layout.Although this study studies the impact of continuation task on senior three students from some aspects: writing interest,writing confidence and students’ writing scores and writing skills,this study has some limitations due to the short time and limited research objects.
