English Proficiency Test for Junior High school,also known as "Entrance Examination for Senior High School",is an English proficiency test based on professional ability.It not only determines whether students continue to study in senior high school,but its backwash effect can impact teaching and learning of Junior high school English,which has been widely concerned by the society.Therefore,it is of great significance to ensure the propositional quality of the examination questions.High school entrance examination English reading comprehension accounted for a large proportion,and its proposition quality has a great impact.As we all know,validity is the most critical index to judge a test,and the validity of reading comprehension test content directly affects its overall validity.Although the English reading comprehension test of Zaozhuang high school entrance examination has been carried out for years,there is little research on its content validity,so it is particularly important to study the content validity of the English reading comprehension test of Zaozhuang high school entrance examination.Comparative analysis and quantitative analysis were adopted to analyze the proposition characteristics and content validity of the 2019-2021 Zaozhuang Reading Comprehension Test from the two dimensions of discourse input and expected response,using the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 edition)and Zaozhuang 2019 Middle School Academic Proficiency Test Instructions as the criterion.In order to understand the specific characteristics of genre,subject matter,length,readability,answer type,task type and reading skill coverage.The following conclusions are drawn from the study: In recent three years,the content validity of the reading comprehension test in Zaozhuang city is generally good,which is highly consistent with the requirements of the curriculum standards,but there are also many deficiencies.First,in the dimension of discourse input,the coverage of the genre is not complete,only involving narrative,expository and practical writing;There are some deficiencies in the balance of genre examination,among which expository text accounts for a large proportion and only one practical text;The topics of the reading comprehension test are rich and vivid,broad and balanced,but the articles lack titles.The length of the article present the steady state,but the arrangement of the reading text is not reasonable enough to reflect the order of "short to long".The whole articles is easier,which is in line with the actual reading level of junior middle school students.However,the readability span between individual texts is large,and the order is not in accordance with the principle of "easy to difficult".Second,the expected answer dimensions,although reading comprehension material has a wide coverage,but reading comprehension tests did not check to all should check the reading skills,at the same time the examination of reading skill is not balanced,especially to obtain specific information,this skill examination proportion is too large,at the same time the analysis also shows that there are problems in the form of test.To solve these problems,this thesis puts forward some suggestions for improvement.
